To thoroughly implement the Implementation Plan on Deepening Reform and Promoting the Healthy Development of Rural Medical and Health Systems issued by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, and in alignment with the college’s goal of advancing high-quality education, on the afternoon of July 30, 2024, Li Boqun, Party Secretary of the College, Vice President Lin Jingcang, and staff members from the Academic Affairs Office, the School of Nursing, and the School of Health, making a total of six, visited Jinjiang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for research and exchange.
The delegation conducted on-site visits to Jinjiang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine and Shenqiu Elderly Care Center in Cizao Community, Cizao Town. A roundtable discussion was held in the staff reading room of the hospital. Attending the meeting were Li Youjia, Deputy Secretary of the Cizao Town Party Committee and Mayor, Huang Guoyu, Deputy Director of Jinjiang Health Bureau and Director of the Disease Control Bureau, Wu Ziyong, Supervisor of the Talent Development Promotion Association of Cizao Town, as well as the leadership team of Jinjiang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
At the meeting, Vice President Shi Shuiye of the hospital provided an overview of the hospital’s operations, treatment specialties, and collaborative teaching initiatives with the college. Mayor Li Youjia of Cizao Town expressed the town government’s strong support for the hospital’s development and emphasized the need to deepen multi-dimensional collaboration among the college, hospital, and local government. He called for identifying synergies in healthcare, rehabilitation, and elderly care to drive the development of the health and wellness industry. The participants engaged in robust discussions on the feasibility of collaboration, the current state and urgent development needs of rural healthcare and wellness industries, and future talent requirements. They expressed the hope that future efforts could be more targeted and sustainable in the training of grassroots healthcare professionals, and that cooperation would be strengthened in areas such as the development of rural health and wellness industries, to better serve elderly care in rural areas and establish a teaching hospital partnership at the earliest opportunity. Secretary Li Boqun remarked that, in recent years, Jinjiang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine has made significant strides, with strong support from the municipal Party committee and government, as well as assistance from various departments and sectors of society. Both its infrastructure and services have been continuously enhanced. He also noted that the Cizao Town government’s emphasis on rural health and the hospital’s development strategy aligns closely with the college’s educational objectives. Secretary Li expressed hope that the hospital, local government, and the college would strengthen their connectivity, accelerate the integration of industry, academia, and research, and work together to achieve targeted training for grassroots medical and healthcare professionals.
This research and exchange visit fostered meaningful dialogue and strengthened cooperation among the college, hospital, and local government. It marked a step forward in leveraging complementary strengths, sharing resources, and exploring new models for the high-quality education and development of rural healthcare and wellness professionals in the new era.
