On September 25, Quanzhou Medical College’s Nan’an Campus basked in an atmosphere of warmth and anticipation. A unique “preparatory initiative”quietly unfolded as the college’s leadership team, joined by all mid-level administrators, transformed into “pioneer evaluators.” They traversed the soon-to-be-inaugurated campus, personally testing dining and accommodation arrangements to pave a warm and thoughtful welcome for the incoming class of over 1,700 freshmen.
This is a brand-new and vibrant space. Construction officially began in March 2023, with a total planned area of 1,000 acres—576 acres of which comprise the first-phase development. The grand architectural complex, spanning 337,000 square meters, rose from blueprints to reality through the meticulous craftsmanship of Xiamen Yuanchang Group and the tireless efforts of construction teams working around the clock. The stately auditorium, serene library, fully equipped sports facilities, towering information complex, along with classrooms, laboratories, faculty and student apartments, and dining halls—all exude modernity, eagerly awaiting their new occupants.
Stepping into the cafeteria, leaders were greeted by a spacious, well-lit dining area with an array of colorful, aromatic dishes. From light vegetarian options to hearty meat-based meals, they sampled each offering attentively. Engaging in friendly exchanges with kitchen staff, they inquired about ingredient sourcing, cooking processes, and nutritional balance, striving to ensure students receive both wholesome and delicious meals.
Moving to the residential zone, rows of pristine and inviting dormitories came into view. Inside the four-person rooms, thoughtful layouts and ample space stood out. Brand-new bedding, private bathrooms, and essential amenities—air conditioning, water heaters, and more—created a homely comfort at every turn. Specially designed accessible dormitories for students with disabilities further underscored the campus’s commitment to inclusivity and compassionate education. Leaders spent the night, personally evaluating every detail—from bed comfort and air quality to noise control and safety measures—all to craft a more secure and comfortable living environment for incoming students.
Throughout the trial dining and overnight stay initiative, the leadership team embodied the college’s student-centric philosophy in action. Their firsthand experiences and in-depth discussions yielded invaluable insights for refining the new campus, ensuring even more thorough and thoughtful preparations for the academic year.
With the October 6 enrollment day drawing near, this fully equipped and picturesque campus is poised to welcome its first residents—over 1,700 freshmen brimming with aspirations and dreams. In the days ahead, this ground will become their cradle of growth and launching pad for ambitions. Quanzhou Medical College, with renewed passion and steadfast resolve, is ready to script the next chapter of its distinguished legacy.
