Quanzhou Medical College Holds High-Quality Development Achievement Exhibition and Grand Donation Ceremony for New Campus

Ninety years of perseverance, soaring ambitions across ninety thousand miles. On the morning of November 17, as the school celebrated its 90th anniversary, the Donation Ceremony for Quanzhou Medical College’s New Campus and its High-Quality Development Achievement Exhibition was grandly held at the Tongde Auditorium in the Nan’an Campus.  

At10a.m., the ceremony commenced with the solemn national anthem. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Hou Changcai, Chairman of Xiamen Yuanchang Group Co., Ltd.; Mr. Li Xuan, Deputy Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Education Working Committee and Vice Minister of Education; Mr. Huang Wenjie, Vice Mayor of Quanzhou Municipal People’s Government; Mr. Zhu Shize, Member of Deputy Director of the Social Development Committeeof Fujian Provincial People’s Congress; Mr. Chen Changping, President of Quanzhou Normal University; Mr. Huang Hongwu, former Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Education Working Committee and former Director of the Provincial Department of Education; Ms. Xiao Huizhong, Vice Chairperson of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Mr. Zhang Xueji, Vice President of Shenzhen University and Academician of the European Academy of Sciences; Ms. Su Xiaoqing, former Vice Chairperson of the Quanzhou Municipal CPPCC; Mr. Wang Lianzan, Mayor of Nan’an City; as well as representatives from municipal and county-level departments, peer colleges inside and outside the province, partner medical organizations and enterprises, associations, retired faculty, alumni, teachers, and students—nearly 3,000 participants in total.  

Professor Huang Wensen from the School of Clinical Medicine, Xu Kaiyan, a student from the Class of 2022 (Oral Medicine), and Ms. Wu Biyu, President of the Quanzhou Nursing Association and Director of the Nursing Department at Quanzhou First Hospital, delivered speeches on behalf of faculty, students, and alumni, respectively. They shared their experiences at the college, expressed gratitude, and pledged to uphold the institution’s motto of “Dedication, Sincerity, Benevolence, and Service” while striving for excellence in their fields to honor the school’s legacy.  

Mr. Hou Changcai, Chairman of Xiamen Yuanchang Group, delivered an impassioned speech, vowing to continue supporting the college’s expansion and funding efforts to advance its goal of becoming a high-level Quanzhou Medical University.  

Vice Mayor Huang Wenjie, on behalf of the Quanzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, extended congratulations to the college community and emphasized the city’s commitment to fostering educational excellence.  

During the event, Chairman Hou Changcai formally transferred thetitle deed of the Nan’an Campus to the college and presented a gold and stone seal inscribed with “Sincerity Opens All Doors”—a symbol of his unwavering dedication to education and aspirations for the college’s future. In return, Li Boqun, Secretary of the College Party Committee, presented Hou with a commemorative plaque.  

Secretary Li Boqun expressed profound gratitude to Hou Changcai and all donors, highlighting that their generosity not only provided critical resources but also infused the institution’s history with an enduring spirit of philanthropy.  

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of purpose as the college reaffirmed its commitment to advancing medical education and serving societal needs.
