On November 16, 2024, the “Academic Innovation, Quality Development” Academic Forum, organized by Quanzhou Medical College, was successfully held at the Nan'an campus of the college. The forum invited experts and scholars from across the country to discuss the latest advancements in medical disciplines, share research findings and clinical experiences, and enhance the quality of education and academic development.
The event was hosted by Lin Jingcang, Vice President of Quanzhou Medical College, with a welcome speech delivered by Li Boqun, the Party Secretary of the college. Secretary Li warmly welcomed the experts and scholars in attendance, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the guests who participated in the college’s 90th-anniversary celebrations. He emphasized that academic innovation is the driving force behind medical development, while quality development remains the college’s eternal pursuit. He encouraged faculty and students to actively engage in research teams and platform development, and to seize this forum as an opportunity to gather collective wisdom, contribute ideas for the future growth of Quanzhou Medical College, and enhance its internal development.
The theme report session was jointly moderated by Professor Chen Wannan, President of Quanzhou Medical College, Professor Lin Jingcang, Vice President, and Professor Lun Yongzhi from the College of Health. The first speaker, Professor Cui Huixian, delivered a report titled “The Essentials and Key Points of Discipline, Major, and Curriculum Construction,” offering an accessible and comprehensive explanation of the importance of discipline, major, and curriculum development in improving the foundation of medical education and the quality of talent cultivation. Drawing from her experience in national medical program accreditation, she outlined a complete system for discipline development. Professor Ye Weimin gave a report titled “Building a High-Level School of Public Health,” sharing insights from his long-term research in chronic disease epidemiology and prevention, as well as his extensive achievements in this field. His talk brought fresh perspectives and new considerations for public health education and research. Professor Li Yadong presented on “Building University Quality Culture from the Perspective of Accreditation and Evaluation,” providing expert insights into professional accreditation standards and implementation strategies within the context of educational assessment and quality assurance. Professor Zhang Lei delivered a report titled “Decoding Genetic Mysteries, Leading Seed Industry Innovation—Cutting-Edge Technology Driving the New Quality Production of Chinese Medicinal Resources,” exploring the application of advanced technologies in cultivating new quality production in Chinese medicinal resources. Professor Kong Shuangbo presented on “Applications of Animal Genetic Models in Reproductive Medicine Research,” offering valuable insights into the physiological and pathological mechanisms of embryo implantation and explaining the key molecules involved in animal genetic models. Professor Fu Guo gave a report titled “Applications of Mass Spectrometry Imaging in Basic and Clinical Research,” sharing his research on T cell functional mechanisms and tumor immune responses, and how mass spectrometry imaging is utilized in cutting-edge research. Finally, Professor Zhu Chuanlong presented “How Clinicians Can Dig into Clinical Cases to Publish High-Quality Articles,” sharing practical strategies and profound insights on clinical research and academic writing, particularly focusing on chronic liver disease research.
The forum concluded with lively discussions among participants. This event aimed to deepen theoretical research and practical exploration in the medical field, enhance the quality of discipline construction, and bring together outstanding young medical talents from across the country and around the world. The forum fostered discussions on the latest developments in medical research and clinical practice, contributing to the innovative development of medical education.
