To be in line with the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and to promote the knowledge of first aid and self-rescue among students , a Party building co-construction event themed " Colleges and Hospitals Join Hands to Safeguard Health" was successfully held in front of Changcai Building at the Nan'an Campus of our college on the afternoon of December 25, 2024.
This event was jointly organized by the Party Branch of our college's Clinical Medicine School, the Party Committee of our College's affiliated People's Hospital, the Party Branch of Quanzhou Emergency Command Center, the Combined Party Branch of Quanzhou Emergency Medicine Society, and the Sixth Party Branch of Quanzhou Radio and Television Station. Integrated professional resources from multiple parties provided comprehensive and practical health services for students, establishing a health protection network on campus.
Medical staff vividly explained and demonstrated some practical skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), and Heimlich Maneuverat the site. Students showed great interest in the first aid knowledge, took out their phones to record every key step and actively participated in simulation exercises to master these practical skills. In response to health problems that adolescent students may face, specialized areas such as endocrinology, gastroenterology, surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, dental care, skin and beauty health were set up to provide consultation and guidance for students and answer their questions. Students’ active participation not only reflected their eagerness for health knowledge but also contributed to the improvement on their health literacy .
The event has achieved the goals of promoting the deep integration of medical and educational resources, enhancing students’ health awareness and their knowledge of first aid and self-rescue, and laying a solid foundation for building a safe and healthy campus. The participating students said that they had benefited a lot from the event that would help them calmly respond to potential emergencies in the future, and gave them a deeper understanding of medical and health work.
The success of the event is a model of multi-party cooperation under the leadership of party building, and also provides valuable experience of exploring a "school-hospital cooperation" model that aims to increase students’ health awareness.
