To thoroughly implement Quanzhou Medical College's "3+1" Special Initiative and fully leverage the guiding role of grassroots Party organizations in student development, the School of Pharmacy Student Party Branch and the Department of Social Sciences and General Education Party Branch jointly organized a special lecture and Themed Party Day Activity titled "Exploring the Beauty of Mathematics, Empowering Student Advancement and Employment" on the afternoon of March 26th. Held in Smart Classroom 503, North Building, Luojiang Campus, the event directly addressed the practical needs of 2023 and 2024 cohort students preparing for the Advanced Mathematics section of the Fujian Provincial "Upgrade from Junior College to University" (Zhuanshengben) exam, as well as course articulation and career planning challenges.

Hybrid Format Ensures Broad Access: Adopting a "live immersive teaching + real-time online broadcast" format, the lecture was delivered by Cheng Yaqiong, Organizational Committee Member of the Social Sciences and Continuing Education Party General Branch and Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences and General Education Party Branch. Huang Guiru, Discipline Inspection Committee Member of the School of Pharmacy Party General Branch, Secretary of the School of Pharmacy Student Party Branch, and Vice Dean of the School of Pharmacy, presided over the event. It attracted over 50 teachers and students on-site while simultaneously being livestreamed via Tencent Meeting, effectively breaking geographical barriers. This ensured students from both the 2023 cohort (Luojiang Campus) and 2024 cohort (Nan'an Campus) could benefit, achieving cross-campus sharing of high-quality educational resources.

Addressing a Critical Educational Shift: Before the lecture, Vice Dean Huang Guiru emphasized the School of Pharmacy's commitment to the Zhuanshengben pathway as a vital means of enhancing talent cultivation quality. Highlighting the significant change in the Fujian Provincial exam starting in 2026—where the public foundation subject shifts from College Chinese to Advanced Mathematics—she explained that the Student Party Branch proactively identified common challenges among 2023 and 2024 cohort students through preliminary surveys. These included weak mathematical foundations and unclear preparation strategies. To address these needs, the Student Party Branch leveraged its role as a fortress, specifically inviting Secretary Cheng Yaqiong to share expert strategies for the Advanced Mathematics exam. Vice Dean Huang expressed the School's sincere gratitude to Secretary Cheng for her professional support of their talent development efforts.

Systematic Exam Preparation Guidance: During the lecture, Cheng Yaqiong provided systematic guidance centered on the Fujian Provincial Advanced Mathematics exam requirements. Her presentation closely followed the exam syllabus, focusing heavily on "Calculus of Single-Variable Functions" (80% weight). She conducted in-depth analyses of four key modules: "Functions, Limits, and Continuity," "Derivatives and Differentials of Functions of a Single Variable," "Applications of Derivatives," and "Integral Calculus." She also covered the syllabus sections for "Analytic Geometry in Space" (10%) and "Ordinary Differential Equations" (10%), while addressing potential mathematical application issues in internship and employment settings. Engaging actively with students, she answered questions, clarified doubts, and guided them towards mastering foundational mathematical knowledge and enhancing their mathematical thinking skills.

A Structured Pathway to Success: Cheng Yaqiong further proposed a "Four-Phase Progression Strategy" for Advanced Mathematics exam preparation: Foundational Knowledge Accumulation, Intensive Enhancement, Comprehensive Review, and Final Sprint recommendations. This framework provided students with clear direction and focus, enabling targeted and efficient study. Concluding her talk, Secretary Cheng encouraged all students: "May each of you use scientific preparation as your boat and persistent effort as your oar, achieving outstanding results in the upcomingentrance exam for junior college to bachelor's degree program and continuing to write splendid chapters of your youth in undergraduate institutions."
