On April 18, 2025, the "2025 Training Program: New Advances in Clinical Nursing Research & AI Applications in Teaching and Research for Dual-Competency Nursing Faculty" commenced at the Academic Lecture Hall (8F, Library and Information Center). The event gathered nearly 300 participants, including nursing program leaders and key faculty from vocational colleges across Fujian Province, as well as clinical nursing instructors from healthcare institutions throughout Quanzhou. Vice President Chen Xianyi attended the opening ceremony and delivered the welcome address.
As Fujian Province’s Vocational Education Training Base for Dual-Competency Teachers and Chair Unit of the Nursing Education and Health Education Committee (Quanzhou Nursing Association), our university prioritized this program. Eleven nationally renowned nursing experts were invited as speakers, including:Prof. Li Xiaomei, Dean, School of Nursing; Xi’an Jiaotong University,Prof. Xu Qin, Dean, School of Nursing, Nanjing Medical University; Prof. Cai Fuman, Dean, School of Nursing, Wenzhou Medical University; Prof. Hu Rong & Prof. Zhuang Jiayuan, School of Nursing, Fujian Medical University; Ms. Wu Biyu, President, Quanzhou Nursing Association; Ms. Xie Baoyuan, Director, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University; Ms. Chen Xiaohua, Director, Guangdong Lingnan Nightingale Research Institute; Ms. Zhang Yuping, Head Nurse, The Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Additionally, our faculty contributed expertise: Prof. Li Hui (School of Nursing) presented on virtual simulation technology in teaching. Dr. Li Honglin (Department of Social Sciences and Public Education) explored large language models in nursing.
The two-day program delivered an immersive academic experience through thematic lectures, case studies, and interactive workshops. Participants affirmed that the training expanded their horizons and provided actionable strategies for integrating AI into nursing education and research.
Hosting this program demonstrates our commitment to advancing nursing education reform. It equipped attendees with frontline knowledge and skills while accelerating our digital transformation in nursing and development of dual-competency faculty. Moving forward, we will deepen industry-academia collaboration with experts to pioneer new frontiers in high-quality nursing development.
