On April 23, 2025, Quanzhou Medical College successfully held its second research exchange conference of the year at the Boyi Cultural and Sports Center of Nan'an Campus. With the theme "Rooted in Integrity, Committed to Innovation", the conference was attended by Secretary of the college’s Party Committee Li Boqun, President of the college Chen Wannan, and Vice President of the college Lin Jingcang. Specially invited experts—including Researcher Liu Zhiguo from Wenzhou Medical University and Professor Liu Fengqiong from Fujian Medical University—joined core faculty members to discuss scientific integrity and academic innovation.

President of Quanzhou Medical College Chen Wannan emphasized in her speech that research integrity is the cornerstone of academic progress, particularly in the field of medicine, where it directly impacts life and health. Professor Liu Fengqiong delivered a special presentation titled "Scientific Integrity and Research Ethics," analyzed the harms of academic misconduct through case studies, and proposed the concept of "ethics-first" research. Through expert lectures and cautionary case studies, the conference reinforced integrity awareness among all staff and strengthened the academic and ethical foundation for the college’s goal of becoming an undergraduate institution.

Innovation in Action: Showcasing Cutting-edge Research Achievements

Nine project leaders gave presentations on hot topics such as tumor mechanisms, nanomedicine delivery, and public health policy, showcasing the college’s strength in interdisciplinary research. Researcher Liu Zhiguo and other experts made precise evaluations of each project, recommending enhanced collaboration between universities and enterprises, as well as better transformation of research achievements, to advance the "Healthy China" strategy through scientific research services.

Three-in-One Strategy: Building a Sustainable Development Ecosystem

The conference implemented an innovative "Integrity Education – Achievements Showcase – Expert Empowerment" model to facilitate in-depth exchanges in a relaxed, coffee-scented open environment. Leaders of the college stated that they plan to establish a self-monitoring mechanism for academic integrity in the future, and effectively leverage such platforms to integrate regional resources, thereby providing research support to cultivate high-quality medical professionals.
