On the afternoon of April 25, 2025, our university held a special meeting on implementing the 2025 Key Points for School Safety Work of Fujian Provincial Department of Education in the multi-functional hall on the 12th floor of the Library and Information Center. University leaders, cadres at or above the deputy section level, all counselors, and relevant personnel from the Security Office and Party and Government Office attended the meeting, which was presided over by Lin Jingcang, the vice president in charge of safety work. At the meeting, the Logistics Management Office, Information Center, Student Affairs Office, Academic Affairs Office, Security Office, and School of Nursing delivered special safety presentations on six aspects: building safety, cybersecurity, student mental health, experimental and training safety, fire safety, and intern safety management. Based on their actual work, these departments shared their experiences and achievements in safety management and also pointed out the current challenges and problems they are facing. In her speech, President Chen Wannan pointed out that safety work is not a sporadic campaign-style effort but a protracted war that requires the protection of safety systems, institutional guarantees, and the participation of all members! President Chen comprehensively deployed campus safety work around four dimensions: "following the laws, establishing mechanisms, strengthening responsibilities, and ensuring implementation." First, we must firmly establish a bottom-line thinking and deeply grasp the regularity of safety work. Second, we must focus on the construction of three major systems to consolidate the foundation of safety management. Third, we must strictly implement three rigid systems to ensure that measures are effectively implemented. Fourth, we must strengthen coordination and linkage to forge a consensus on safety among all members and comprehensively deploy campus safety work. In his concluding speech, Li Boqun, Secretary of the University Party Committee, emphasized that all persons responsible for safety work must thoroughly study and implement the important statements, instructions, and directives of General Secretary Xi Jinping on work safety, and earnestly implement the key points of the superior documents, further tighten the responsibility for safety work, and ensure the safe and stable development of the university. Secretary Li put forward four requirements: first, we must effectively enhance our political stance, place greater emphasis on safety and stability, and focus on tightening the "safety valve" in the ideological sphere. Second, we must closely monitor the implementation of safety responsibilities, establish a long-term mechanism for safety management, and focus on building a "safety wall" throughout the entire process involving all members. Third, we must comprehensively investigate potential safety hazards, resolutely take the initiative in preventing risks and hazards, and focus on weaving a dense "safety net" for service guarantees. Fourth, we must strictly implement supervision and assessment, improve the evaluation system for the university's safety work, and focus on chanting the "safety mantra" of accountability and effectiveness. The holding of this special meeting not only pointed out the direction for the university's next steps in safety work but also laid a solid foundation for building a safe campus. The university will take this meeting as an opportunity to further strengthen safety awareness, implement safety responsibilities, continuously improve the level of campus safety management, and create a safe and harmonious learning and working environment for teachers and students.
