In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation and guide Party members and cadres in promoting the high-quality development of faculty team building in the new era with a pragmatic and responsible work style, Professor Chen Wannian, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the college, delivered a themed Party lecture on May 8 titled "Strengthening Work Style Construction and Upholding the Original Aspiration of Education—Promoting High-Quality Development of Faculty Team Building in the New Era." The lecture took place in Conference Room 1 on the 10th floor of the Library and Information Center. Vice President Chen Xianyi presided over the session, which was attended by all Party members of the Second Administrative Party Branch, all members of the Human Resources Office, and faculty Party representatives from the School of Basic Medicine.

President Chen centered her lecture on the key points of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches, aligning them with the university’s ongoing efforts to build an application-oriented undergraduate institution. She focused on three main areas:

Development Opportunities for Higher Medical Education in the New Era: She pointed out that this is a crucial moment in which the national strategies of strengthening education and building a healthy China converge. It is essential to accurately grasp the demands of Chinese-style modernization for education, science and technology, and talent, and to improve the quality of medical education by targeting the six key strength of an education-strong nation.

Guided by the Spirit of the Eight-Point Regulation: Cultivating a Solid Work Style in Talent Development Services: She emphasized that Party organizations at all levels and human resources departments should take this in-depth study of the Eight-Point Regulation as an opportunity to strengthen work style construction and provide strong support for talent and faculty development in the college.

Promoting High-Quality Development of Faculty Teams in the New Era: She stressed the importance of building a faculty team that meets the needs of modern undergraduate education by focusing on four areas—fostering teacher virtue , coordinated recruitment and training, integration of medicine, teaching and research, and reform of evaluation systems.

President Chen’s lecture combined theoretical depth with practical relevance, giving participants a deeper understanding of the strategic positioning of medical education in the new era, the political responsibility of work style construction, and practical approaches to faculty development. Moving forward, the university will continue to deepen the achievements of themed education, gather strength for progress, take concrete actions, and advance the high-quality development of all institutional undertakings through tangible results.
