The Appeal of World Heritage Sites through the Lens of Sino-Foreign Cultural Exchange: A Lecture on Ideological and Political Education Delivered by Vice President of Quanzhou Medical College Lin Jingcang

On the afternoon of May 21, 2025, Professor Lin Jingcang, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Quanzhou Medical College, delivered a themed lecture titled "Little-Known Stories of World Heritage Sites" at the Ma'anshan Academic Lecture Hall of the Quanzhou Medical College (Nan'an Campus). The audience consisted of students from the School of Nursing and Clinical Medicine College admitted in 2024.

Vice President Lin Jingcang began with stories of historical figures from Quanzhou and, drawing on his personal experiences and reflections from visits to heritage sites in Australia, Europe, Japan, and throughout China, delivered a compelling dialogue across time and civilizations to an audience of over 500 students. During the lecture, Vice President Lin Jingcang’s humorous and engaging style guided both teachers and students in exploring the rich meanings embedded in Chinese and international world heritage. Interactive activities further sparked students’ interest, allowing them to experience the charm of diverse cultural legacies under his guidance. Drawing on his medical background, he offered a unique perspective in exploring the cultural richness of both Chinese and international world heritage sites.

Spanning two hours, the lecture combined rigorous academic analysis with immersive cultural storytelling. It redefined the educational significance of world heritage from the perspective of intercultural exchange, offering students a truly unique and thought-provoking lesson in ideological and political education.
