On 24 May 2025, the Health Department of Quanzhou Medical College orchestrated the 15th "Haier Cup" Medical Laboratory Skills Operation Competition at its Basic Experimental Building.
The competition, themed"Youth in Flux, Dreams in Competition", garnered 68 participants from the medical laboratory program, reflecting a 70% participation rate. Grounded in the synergistic integration of"Party Construction + Professional Pedagogy", it ingrained the occupational ethos of"stringent standardization and meticulous precision" throughout its framework. From drafting the competition protocol to trainee selection, from adjudicatory panel vetting to venue logistics, Party member cadres oversaw each stratum, ensuring procedural rectitude.
In consonance with national imperatives for high-quality development of modern vocational education, the competition conformed to standards of the National Vocational College Skills Competition, featuring four core modules: leukocyte enumeration, bacterial identification, total protein assay, and morphological analysis. Participants first underwent a theoretical preliminary to appraise professional proficiencies and integrative competencies. The adjudicatory board comprised four eminent specialists: Director Dai Xubo (Clinical Laboratory, 910th Hospital of Joint Logistics Support Force), Director Wu Yibo (Clinical Laboratory, Quanzhou First Hospital), Director He Xiangping (Clinical Laboratory, QZMC Affiliated People's Hospital), and Dr. He Guoding (Chairman, Quanzhou Gaopin Medical Laboratory). Their clinical acumen and scholarly erudition ensured evaluative impartiality. Department Vice President Chen Xianyi, Health Department Party Secretary Zhang Wenjie, and Dean Tu Zhuote attended the event ex officio.
Following intensive competition, 24 awardees were conferred first, second, third, and merit prizes across four categories. Vice President Chen bestowed certificates upon first-prize recipients at the award ceremony. In his expert critique, Director Dai lauded participants' performances while proffering constructive insights on procedural refinements.
This competition functions as both a comprehensive skills assay and a showcase of the College's pedagogical quality and talent cultivation paradigm. It instantiates the Party-led initiative to advance excellence in medical laboratory education. The Health Department will sustain its"competition-anchored learning, application-focused education" ethos, dedicated to cultivating paragon medical laboratory professionals.
