On the morning of May 27th, Su Gengcong, Vice Mayor of Quanzhou Municipal Government led a delegation to visit our college to survey the joint training of elderly care service talents. Lian Jingzhong, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Government's General Office, Chen Jinsong, Party Secretary and Director of the Civil Affairs Bureau, and Zheng Qiang, Deputy Director of the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau accompanied the delegation, along with Li Boqun, Party Secretary , Chen Wannan, President, and Lin Jingcang, Vice President of the college.

The survey team visited the Quanzhou Elderly Care Service Talent Education and Training Base, the Modern Nursing Practice Center, and the National Medical Virtual Simulation Practice Base. They gained a deep understanding of the construction of the college's elderly care service talent training environment and carefully examined the operation effectiveness of the innovative teaching model combining virtual and real-world practices.

At the subsequent symposium, the participants engaged in an in-depth discussion on elderly care service talent cultivation. Party Secretary Li Boqun of our college stated that the college will accurately meet local actual needs, systematically build and standardize elderly care service talent training, and strive to create a distinctive Quanzhou - style training program for elderly care service talents that can serve as a national benchmark.

Vice Mayor Su Gengcong pointed out that the current elderly care service workforce in Quanzhou is numerically sufficient to meet municipal demands, but the overall quality of the workforce still needs further improvement. Talent team building remains a challenging and crucial task. He emphasized that the joint elderly care service talent training base between Quanzhou Medical College and the Quanzhou Civil Affairs Bureau is a key initiative for promoting the high - quality development of the city's elderly care service industry. The base should develop a scientifically forward - looking operation plan, closely align with the "15th Five - Year" elderly care service industry development plan of Quanzhou, and fully leverage its platform role in talent cultivation, utilization, and management. It should also focus on its dual - integration function, actively connect with actual enterprise needs, integrate quality resources from all sides, and cultivate high - quality service talents for the industry.

Since launching the Elderly Care and Health Management major in 2019, the college has achieved fruitful results. The professional teaching team has led over 30 provincial and municipal-level elderly care-related research projects and published more than 40 core and provincial-level papers. Many teachers hold assessor qualifications for nursing homes and senior citizens' ability assessors, and have repeatedly served as judges in national, provincial, and municipal-level elderly care-related competitions. In the past three years, students have won one second prize in national vocational college skills competitions and two first prizes in provincial events. To date, the major has produced 157 graduates, most of whom have become the backbone of various elderly care institutions in Quanzhou, injecting strong momentum into the development of local elderly care services.
